The Little Black Dress

The Little Black Dress

The Little Black Dress or LBD is a must-have in every woman’s cupboard – it is the go-to dress when you don’t know what to wear and suits most moods of the woman with ever changing desires and needs. Whether you are feeling sexy, moody, romantic or whimsical, the little black dress adapts to your mood, especially through how you accessorize it.

Coco Chanel is attributed to making the LBD an iconic in the 1920s, and back then, Vogue predicted that this would be “the frock that all the world will wear,” and a century later, they are still being proven right.

So, any and every woman can find her own LBD, but how you accessorize it is how you can change your look every time you wear it, and how you can reflect your mood.

Pearls have always complimented the LBD, especially after Audrey Hepburn wore them with her LBD in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Whether it is a single long strand of pearls, or layered pearl necklaces or a chunky pearl choker, pearls and the LBD will always invoke Coco, Audrey and pure elegance.

Necklaces are not limited to pearls – you can wear layered necklaces of different stones and styles together, or multi-colored chunky necklaces, along with a chunky bracelet to complete a more edgy look.

For another look, you can opt out of neck wear, and go for arm accessories, with lots of different bangles and bracelets giving you a variety of looks, or opt for statement earrings, ones with a vintage look, or hoop earrings or the long pair that brush your shoulders.

The beauty of the LBD is that it can be worn anywhere at any time if you know how to accessorize it!
